In addition to blue-chip guards Addie Deal and Journey Houston having already committed, the Hawkeyes are also very much in the running for five-star player Jordan Speiser out of Missouri’s Lutheran High School.

Talia Goodman of On3 said that Speiser whittled down her initial list of potential recruits to five, with the Iowa Hawkeyes making the cut. Speiser disqualified Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Minnesota, and Oklahoma.

Speiser averaged 22.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for Missouri, earning him the title of Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year. The 6-foot-1 guard contributed to Lutheran High School’s victory in the Class 5 state final.

Speiser plays on the All Iowa Attack Nike EYBL team as well. Iowa Hawkeyes like Caitlin Clark, Sydney Affolter, Kylie Feuerbach, Hannah Stuelke, Jada Gyamfi, and Taylor McCabe are graduates of this same program. Speiser was offered by Iowa in June 2021.
