BREAKING: Huge Boost for Houston Cougars Basketball as Kelvin Sampson announces the commitment of another gifted star player

Houston secures a commitment from three-star forward Bryce Jackson.

Three-star forward  has officially committed to Kelvin Sampson and the Houston Cougars.

This marks the first commitment for Sampson in the Class of 2025. Earlier today, Bryce Jackson announced his decision to join Houston.

“I appreciate the family atmosphere and the proximity to home,” Jackson shared in a previous interview about Houston. “I attended their camp and performed well. I have visited the campus several times and have played alongside some players from my grassroots team who are currently there. The coaching staff is very welcoming and it truly feels like family.”

Standing at 6-foot-5 and hailing from Alvin (Texas) Shadow Creek High, Jackson is a dynamic player who might have ranked in the top 150 nationally if not for leg injuries that affected his sophomore and junior years in high school basketball.

He regained his form during the June Scholastic Live Period, showcasing his skills at the TABC Showcase, where he stood out on both ends of the court in front of Kelvin and Kellen Sampson.

With Jackson joining the team, he will team up with five-star senior recruit and No. 2 ranked shooting guard Isiah Harwell in Houston’s 2025 recruiting class.

Sampson and his team are now focused on completing their class, competing against Arkansas, Texas, and Texas Tech for Kingston Flemings. They are also in the running for either Chris Cenac or John Clark for the five-man position.

As a potential late bloomer in the upcoming high school season, Jackson is currently ranked as the No. 65 small forward in the 247Sports Positional Rankings.
