BREAKING: How Dolphins’ quarterback Talented star feels about contract extension talks

There was a period in Tua Tagovailoa’s professional journey when his future in Miami seemed uncertain. During a breakout season in 2022, the Dolphins’ quarterback encountered two concerning concussions in quick succession, raising the specter of retirement, a daunting prospect for a young player.

Fast forward a year, after surmounting significant challenges and emerging as the NFL’s passing leader in 2023, the question arises once more: What lies ahead for Tagovailoa in Miami?

Three years into his rookie contract, the Dolphins chose to activate the fifth-year option on Tagovailoa’s deal, securing their starting QB through the 2024 season and affording both sides more time to demonstrate that it is the right fit. Following an impressive 2023 season that saw him lead the league in passing yards with 4,624, the former University of Alabama standout confirmed his position within the franchise.

Discussions about a contract extension have been ongoing during this offseason; however, as the draft approaches in two weeks, the parties have not yet struck a deal. Despite this, Tagovailoa remains unfazed. He expresses his intention to consider Miami his long-term home.

“For me, this truly feels like home. It’s where my children were born, where we plan to raise our family. This city chose me as their quarterback, and I am immensely thankful and honored for that opportunity,” Tagovailoa shared with reporters.
