Breaking: Highly Talented LSU quarterback Target Reveals Commitment Decision
Murrieta (Calif.) four-star quarterback Bryson Beaver has seen his stock soar this offseason, with powerhouse programs like LSU stepping into his recruitment in a big way.
Ranked among the top 25 quarterbacks in the nation, Beaver is navigating a crucial phase in his recruitment after decommitting from Boise State earlier this month.
“After talking with Coach Danielson earlier this week, I decided to decommit from Boise State and reopen my recruitment,” Beaver announced. “It was an incredibly tough choice because of the support and kindness shown to me and my family by the Boise State staff and Bronco Nation. We’re extremely grateful and wish them all the best moving forward.”
Beaver’s decommitment immediately sparked interest from top programs across the country. LSU, Oregon, Alabama, and Ole Miss all reached out, with Ole Miss and Oregon extending offers after his impressive camp showings.
LSU entered the race shortly after, offering Beaver on Sunday in an effort to become a serious contender for his commitment.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound signal-caller is coming off a standout junior season, completing over 66 percent of his passes for 3,214 yards and 33 touchdowns, while tossing just six interceptions. He also added 411 rushing yards and six rushing scores.
However, before LSU and others could ramp up their recruitment, Beaver made his decision. On Wednesday, the California standout announced his commitment to Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks, officially choosing to continue his football journey in Eugene.
The last few weeks have been a blessing—I’ve had some great conversations with amazing coaches from top programs, and I’m super thankful for the interest I’ve received. With that said, I’m excited to announce that I’m committing to play football at @oregonfootball ! Huge thank… pic.twitter.com/CYUAaEzzVg

Bryson Beaver took his official visit to Oregon over the weekend, a trip that ultimately solidified his decision to commit to the Ducks.
Meanwhile, LSU head coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers are still on the hunt for a quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class after losing out on top-five prospect Bowe Bentley, who committed to the Oklahoma Sooners last week.
Bentley was LSU’s top quarterback target, and his decision leaves the Tigers reassessing their approach. With the NCAA Dead Period underway, the program will use this time to revisit and reevaluate their quarterback options moving forward.
