Ismaila Diagne, a seven-foot center from Real Madrid, has entered into a financial aid agreement to attend Gonzaga University and will join their men’s basketball team for the 2024-25 season.
Originally from Nguekhokhe, Senegal, Diagne averaged 10.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks this past season with Real Madrid’s Under-18 team, leading them to victory in the Adidas Next Gen Tournament in Berlin, Germany.
Real Madrid also triumphed at the Podgorica Tournament during the 2023-24 season, where Diagne averaged 11 points and 7.8 rebounds across four games.
This season, Diagne played in four games for the Real Madrid national team in the Spanish Liga Endesa (ACB), averaging five points on 58% shooting, along with 4.5 rebounds and one block in 12.5 minutes per game. He also took part in two EuroLeague matches with the club.
During the 2023 Adidas Next Generation Tournament, Diagne performed impressively, averaging 12.5 points on 55% shooting and securing 12 rebounds per game for the Real Madrid U18 squad.BR
