BREAKING: Golden Bears Set to Announce the commitment of an electrifying 4-Star playmaker – Reports

Highly touted prospect, Divine Bourrage, a five-star recruit, is scheduled to make an official visit to Cal

Divine Bourrage, a guard hailing from Davenport, Iowa, and ranked as the nation’s 5th top recruit in the 2025 class by ESPN, has arranged official visits to four schools. One of these visits is scheduled for Cal.

According to a recent report by the 247 Sports website, Bourrage intends to visit Arizona on September 7, Cal on September 14, Virginia Tech on September 21, and LSU on October 12. She aims to finalize her college decision this autumn.

Standing at 5 feet 11 inches, Bourrage is a versatile guard who earned the title of Gatorade Iowa Player of the Year during her junior season. Notably, Caitlin Clark secured this honor in 2019 and 2020. Aside from the schools on her visit list, South Carolina and Iowa are among the numerous institutions that have extended offers to Bourrage.

In the previous season, Bourrage posted impressive averages of 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and three steals, guiding Davenport North High School to a 22-3 record and the quarterfinals of the Class 5A state tournament.

Cal finished the previous season with a 19-15 overall record and a 7-11 conference record in the Pac-12, narrowly missing out on a spot in the NCAA tournament. Despite this, the Bears participated in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament and were eliminated in the second round. This marked the most successful season for Cal under the leadership of fifth-year head coach Charmin Smith, who received a contract extension following the 2023-24 season.

For the upcoming 2024-25 season, Cal retains the majority of its key players as they prepare to compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Additionally, the team welcomed three transfers: Kayla Williams from USC, Jayda Noble from Washington, and Gisella Maul from Texas.

The departure of point guard Leilani McIntosh, who reached the end of her eligibility after five years as the starting point guard for the Bears, is a significant loss. Another notable departure was Kemery Martin, who transferred to BYU.
