Giants Injury Updates: Returning Players and Concerns.

As the New York Giants prepare for their joint practice with the Jets on Wednesday, head coach Brian Daboll provided updates on the team’s injury situation. In addition to the previously reported injuries, rookie running back Dante “Turbo” Miller has returned to practice but will be limited due to some tightness in his hamstring area[1]. Defensive back David Long Jr., on the other hand, is still out.

The Giants received some good news as quarterback Drew Lock (hip) and rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) returned to practice for the first time since their respective injuries[1]. Daboll expressed optimism about Tracy’s progress, stating, “He’s good.

While the return of Lock and Tracy is encouraging, the Giants have some real concerns regarding week-to-week players. Micah McFadden, Matthew Adams, Gunner Olszewski, and Lawrence Cager fall into this category[1]. McFadden, a starter, and the other three players could potentially miss the 53-man roster cutdown deadline next Tuesday.

The Giants are taking a cautious approach with many players, holding them out or limiting their participation as a precaution[1]. The goal is to have these players available for the regular season opener against the Minnesota Vikings on September 8.

As the preseason progresses and the regular season approaches, the Giants will continue to monitor the health and progress of their players. The joint practice with the Jets on Wednesday will provide valuable insight into the team’s readiness and depth as they look to build on last season’s success.
