BREAKING: Gary Neville won’t be at Nottingham Forest game after ‘phone call’ with Sky amid claims he could be ‘sued’

Nottingham Forest will be without Gary Neville for their Premier League match against Manchester City on Sunday due to the club’s ongoing feud with Sky Sports.

Forest’s anger stems from last weekend’s loss to Everton, where the club accused VAR official Stuart Atwell of bias and questioned the integrity of the system. Neville criticized Forest’s statement as “mafia-like,” leading the club to consider legal action against Sky. Neville has now addressed the situation on the latest episode of Stick To Football, sponsored by Sky Bet.

A Forest supporter inquired if Neville would attend the Nottingham Forest versus Manchester City match, to which he responded that he would not. Instead, he will be at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the North London derby between Spurs and Arsenal.

Neville humorously stated that he requested Sky to schedule the North London derby on Sunday. Additionally, Neville criticized Forest’s decision to hire former referee Mark Clattenburg as a consulting referee, urging him to resign.

Neville reiterated his criticism, expressing concern that Mark Clattenburg’s presence is hindering Nuno Espirito Santo’s efforts to keep the team afloat in the Premier League.
He emphasized that Clattenburg’s involvement, likening him to a covert operative whispering to the CEO from the director’s box, is problematic. Neville stressed that he called for Clattenburg’s resignation because if Clattenburg was aware of the controversial Luton tweet, he should have distanced himself from it. Neville highlighted the importance of leadership in football clubs and pointed out that Forest’s performance has declined since Clattenburg’s arrival, winning only one match in the last ten games compared to four wins in the preceding ten games.
Neville criticized the club’s attitude towards referees, stating that it provides a reason for players to underperform. He argued that the focus on referees, including the presence of Clattenburg in the director’s box, has negatively impacted the team’s mentality. Neville urged the club to change their approach and concentrate on football, warning that they risk relegation if they continue to prioritize referees over their own performance.
