Former Georgia Bulldog George Pickens had an impressive start to his season. The third-year player recorded 85 yards on six receptions against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, September 8. He could have added 29 more yards, but a penalty nullified one of his catches.

Pickens has high expectations for himself this season. Selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he has been Pittsburgh’s leading receiver since his rookie year, amassing 1,991 yards and nine touchdowns over his first two seasons. Nevertheless, his performance has been hindered by conservative play calling and inconsistent quarterback play, as he has caught passes from three different quarterbacks.

With the possible pairing of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, who recently started for the Steelers, George Pickens may experience the best quarterback play of his career. This anticipated improvement in quarterback performance has led some to speculate that he could make the Pro Bowl. Regardless of whether he achieves that honor, fans of the Bulldogs are thrilled to watch one of their top NFL talents excel, especially on a team featuring several other players from Georgia.
