Breaking: Florida Gators Lands 1 Of The Best Offensive Players In The Transfer Portal

Florida was once a powerhouse of college football in the mid-2000s when head coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Tim Tebow won two national championships, but since then, the Gators have struggled in a brutal SEC.

Florida Needs To Have A Great Season In 2024

The head coach of the Gators, Billy Napier, is entering his third season with the team without achieving a winning record. In 2022, Florida posted a 6-7 record and suffered a loss in the Las Vegas Bowl.

However, the team’s performance declined in the following season, finishing with a 5-7 record and missing out on a bowl game appearance. If there are no improvements in Gainesville this season, Napier’s job security could be at risk. Despite this uncertainty, the 44-year-old head coach received positive news on Thursday that could potentially benefit him in the upcoming season.

Jason Zandamela Is Heading To The Gators

“USC inside offensive lineman Jason Zandamela has committed to Florida.”

Typically, when a player enters the transfer portal, they have spent a considerable amount of time at their current school before opting for a change.

Jason Zandamela had only been at his previous institution for three months. The Clearwater native joined USC in January of this year, and shortly after the conclusion of spring ball, he entered the transfer portal. As per 247sports.com, the 6-foot-3 offensive lineman was ranked as the top interior offensive lineman in the 2024 class, positioning him to contend for a starting role this upcoming season.
