Ohio State’s efforts to retain five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord will extend into October, as he is scheduled to visit Oregon on October 12 during the Buckeyes’ trip to Eugene, Oregon.
Offord returned to Ohio State’s campus on June 21 after visiting Oregon on June 14. The native of Birmingham, Alabama, visited Auburn and Alabama as he considered his options.
Offord is ranked as the No. 9 player overall and the No. 3 cornerback in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings, making him one of four five-star commitments for Ohio State. The other five-star recruits in this class include cornerback Devin Sanchez, quarterback Tavien St. Clair, and linebacker Riley Pettijohn.
If Ohio State can fend off Oregon in their pursuit of Offord, it would be a significant achievement for the Buckeyes, who currently have 24 prospects committed. Meanwhile, Oregon has 15 commitments but boasts the highest average player rating of any program in the nation.
The recruiting rivalry between Ohio State and Oregon is expected to continue for several years, and it will soon extend onto the field as well.
RB down to the final five institutions in 2026.
Five-star running back Savion Hiter has included Ohio State in his final five schools. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 29 overall prospect and the top running back in the 2026 class.
Hiter, who hails from Woodberry Forest, has narrowed his options down to Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia, Penn State, and Ohio State.
Currently, Ohio State has one commitment in the 2026 class, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., who is ranked as the top player in this recruiting cycle. If the Buckeyes secure Hiter’s commitment, it would mark a significant achievement for new running backs coach Carlos Locklyn on the recruiting front.
