While Peach Jam is currently receiving all the attention, five-star Jasper Johnson might be prepared to permanently end his recruiting soon after.
It’s no secret that the 6-foot-4 guard from Link Academy is a top-10 prospect in the Class of 2025, and Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball team are actively recruiting him. Davis and his team aren’t hesitating to express their interest in the left-handed guard, as they were present at Peach Jam to witness Johnson in action.
Joe Tipton of On3 hinted at a potential decision for Johnson in the social media post above, since it appears like a three-team race between Kentucky, Alabama, and the UNC basketball program.
Even though the Tar Heels have expressed a great deal of interest, they may still need to catch up in terms of recruiting him. Johnson is originally from Johnson Woodford County, Kentucky, and he transferred to Link Academy last year to improve his basketball talents, thus Kentucky might have a tiny advantage. Even though he’s moved out of Kentucky, Mark Pope and his team still view him as an in-state product.
There is fierce rivalry for Jasper Johnson’s services because the gifted guard has the potential to become an instant star for whichever college team he decides to commit to. If Johnson decides to become a Tar Heel, it would be a huge splash for Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball team since he would be a significant initial addition to the Tar Heels 2025 recruiting class.
