Occasionally, all a player needs is to be given the opportunity. If properly utilized and controlled, one chance can become a season of chances.
In order to become a more potent offense that can score points fast or move the ball with chunk plays in 2024, the Iowa Hawkeyes need an offensive player to seize the opportunity and run with it.
In the spring, walk-on receiver Kaden Wetjen showed he might provide Iowa with the extra pop the Hawkeyes need. Wetjen’s quickness may allow him to play a more significant offensive role in addition to punt and kick return duties. Just 20 passing plays for the Hawkeyes last season went for 20 yards or more. Among Power 5 offensive last season, that was the lowest ranked. — Trotter
