Friedman mentioned that Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald continues to inquire about the 34-year-old player and has not given up, even though there have been indications that the Flames intend to retain him for the remainder of the season.

Markstrom criticized Flames management for their handling of his trade rumors last week, expressing that the situation “could have been managed much differently from the top.”
