BREAKING: Colorado Avalanche signs another center two-year contract

While counting down the moments until the NHL trade deadline on Friday at 1 p.m., the Colorado Avalanche were busy attending to other essential matters by securing the services of current Colorado Eagles center Ivan Ivan on a two-year Entry Level Contract. The contract will come into effect starting from the 2024-25 season. The standard duration of the ELC is two years, which aligns with Ivan’s age of 22 years set for this autumn.

Following an impressive season in the AHL, where he recorded 27 points, including 12 goals, across 51 games, Ivan caught the attention and secured a commitment for an NHL contract, possibly earning an opportunity to showcase his talents with the Avalanche in the future. His skill set is well-suited for providing a blend of hard work and skill in the team’s bottom six, and he also possesses the flexibility to play as a center!

Ivan started his professional career by showcasing his speed, skill, and determination during training camp. However, what truly sets him apart is his consistent impact on the Eagles. As a young Czech forward, he has continuously impressed, earning the title of one of our three stars of the month for four months in a row and consistently ranking near the top five in team scoring. Ivan’s reliability, durability, and constant improvement make him a smart choice for an NHL contract.

This may mark the beginning of a series of new Entry-Level Contract (ELC) agreements for the Avalanche organization as they focus on building depth within the system for the upcoming season. Ivan was among the top priorities for signing, with the possibility of additional signings in the near future. Who will be the next player to secure a deal?
