BREAKING: Cincinnati Bengals Set To Move Star Wide Receiver To AFC Rival In Big Proposed Trade

Cincinnati Bengals Ready to Give their All to Finally Secure a Super Bowl Victory

The Cincinnati Bengals are gearing up for the full impact of star quarterback Joe Burrow’s massive 5-year, 46 million next season from $29 million in 2024, as he enters the final leg of his rookie deal on the 5th-year option.

To maintain their win-now mentality, the Bengals have been active in free agency, securing quality starters like tackle Trent Brown, tight end Mike Gesicki, safeties Vonn Bell and Geno Stone, and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins.

However, the team seems to be facing challenges in compensating wide receivers. 2nd round pick Tee Higgins is under the franchise tag with no long-term deal in sight, while the departure of Tyler Boyd earlier in the offseason has left a gap in the once formidable receiving trio alongside Ja’Marr Chase.

Tee Higgins is potentially available for trade at any time, provided the offer is suitable

Amid the flurry of activity, speculations are swirling, and now a new name has emerged as a potential destination—the Jacksonville Jaguars, AFC rivals of the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Jaguars, having missed out on retaining former receiver Calvin Ridley, find themselves with a thin receiving group consisting of Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and Gabe Davis, a trio lacking significant star power.

Following the Stefon Diggs trade to the Houston Texans for just a 2025 2nd round pick, it is suggested by Alex Key of Bleacher Report that Tee Higgins may now command a similar price, perhaps not exceeding a 2nd round pick in 2024.

The Bengals’ willingness to accept only a mid-second round pick for Higgins, possibly with an additional late-round pick, remains uncertain. The market for Higgins could be subdued due to his upcoming contract extension and relatively low production in 2023.

If the best offer on the table is Jacksonville’s Round 2 pick, Cincinnati might opt to secure a quality prospect for the future rather than holding onto Higgins for one more season and risk losing him for just a compensatory pick in 2025.

While Higgins could make an impact with the Jaguars alongside talents like Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne, the question arises whether the Bengals are inclined to trade the former Clemson standout for less than a 1st-round pick in the near future. This raises the important query of how the Bengals plan to address their receiver position going forward.
