The Cincinnati Bengals are set to introduce a new focal point to lead their rushing offense.
Not only is there news of a trade involving Tee Higgins from Cincinnati on Monday, but the Bengals are also shaking things up at a key position after 8 years. Following Joe Mixon’s departure on Monday night, Cincinnati promptly secured a new starting running back, according to Mike Garafol.
The #Bengals have agreed to terms with RB Zack Moss on a two-year, $8 million deal, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. The deal includes $4.525 million in the first year for Moss, who cashes in after showing what he could do in Jonathan Taylor’s absence last year. pic.twitter.com/iaiHw4G5dh

Zack Moss had a breakout season in 2023, rushing for 794 yards on 183 carries and scoring 5 touchdowns. Despite being the primary running back for parts of his time in Indianapolis, he only secured a modest 2-year, $8 million contract. This situation may reflect more on the current state of the mid-tier running back market than Moss’s performance.
The upside for Moss is that he now has the chance to become the main running back for a Bengals team with championship aspirations. If quarterback Joe Burrow can return to full health, Moss will have the opportunity to showcase his skills as a featured back.
This appears to be a promising move for the Bengals, and time will tell if Moss can step up and fulfill a potentially significant role in Ohio.
