In the 2023 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns boasted one of the top defenses in the league, led by standout defensive end Myles Garrett who later earned the title of NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Despite navigating the regular season with a rotating cast at quarterback and a strong defense, the Browns stumbled in the playoffs against a determined Houston Texans squad spearheaded by the emerging talent of C.J. Stroud.
The Browns’ defense faltered in the playoff opener against the Texans, conceding 45 points to Stroud and his team in a disappointing conclusion to the season.
With aspirations of contending for a title and maintaining their championship window, the Browns took action on Thursday to bolster their defense by acquiring a former divisional rival through NFL free agency.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Browns have reached an agreement with linebacker Devin Bush, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks, on a one-year contract.

While Bush had a lackluster season with the Seahawks, struggling to leave a significant mark in Seattle, a new beginning in the AFC North division may provide him with the opportunity to rediscover success in the league, where he thrived previously.
Over his five-year NFL career, Bush has amassed a stat line consisting of two interceptions, 13 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, 4.0 sacks, one defensive touchdown, and 191 solo tackles.
