Breaking: Boston Celtics Undisclosed Decision To Trade For 5-Time NBA All-Star.. Finally

The Boston Celtics have a strong roster, but there’s always potential for enhancement. Known for being active in trade discussions, they’re unlikely to hold back after winning last season’s NBA championship. According to Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey, a possible trade target for the Celtics this year is Miami Heat’s Kevin Love. Bailey points out that while the Celtics don’t have urgent needs, adding Love could strengthen their bench depth. He suggests that if the Miami Heat get off to a rough start and consider trading Jimmy Butler—who didn’t sign an extension—it might lead them to part with other veterans, including Love.

A seasoned floor-spacer with championship experience, Love could align well with Boston’s three-point-focused style. Additionally, with Kristaps Porzingis sidelined for the first few months following foot surgery, the Celtics could find themselves lacking depth in the frontcourt, making a move for a big man like Love more likely. Though Love has defensive shortcomings, his offensive capabilities and rebounding skills could still be beneficial for Boston in limited minutes.

Last season, he played 55 games for the Heat, averaging 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds in about 17 minutes per game, with shooting splits of 44.0% from the field, 34.4% from three, and 78.7% from the free-throw line. While Love isn’t the three-point threat he once was—having struggled to maintain over 35% accuracy from beyond the arc in the past two seasons—defenses must still respect his shooting ability. In an offense driven by ball movement and open shots, he could thrive. It’ll be interesting to see if the Boston Celtics pursue a trade for Love down the line!
