The Pirates have proposed an enticing package to the future holder of the 1/1 Paul Skenes rookie trading card, which includes 30 years of season tickets behind home plate, a softball game at PNC Park with coaching from former Pirates players, autographed jerseys, a batting practice session, and a meet-and-greet with Skenes.
According to Cllct, the value of three decades’ worth of season tickets could range from approximately $240,000 to $2 million, depending on the seating location.
Goldin insists that anyone considering the deal should consult him first.
“Before anyone accepts this or any offer, reach out to me directly,” he tweeted. “@GoldinCo can sell the card for you, potentially providing enough money to fund your children’s college education, and you could even use the remaining funds to participate in a meet-and-greet with Skenes if you wish.
”While Goldin does not mention season tickets, it raises the question: who genuinely wants Pirates season tickets at this point? The team has not won a playoff series in over 30 years and has recorded 76 wins in each of the past two seasons. Given Goldin’s success in securing life-changing amounts for memorabilia like Ohtani’s historic ball, it might be wise to reach out to him if you happen to find the Skenes card.
