Trice, a seventh-round selection from Purdue by the Steelers in the 2023 NFL Draft, was sidelined for his entire rookie season due to a knee injury sustained during preseason training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The injury occurred early in training camp, specifically during the team’s initial full-pads practice session.
The Steelers have designated Joey Porter Jr. as their starting cornerback, and Donte Jackson, a veteran offseason acquisition, is expected to occupy another position. However, there is a need for a dependable slot cornerback and additional depth at the position. As a result, this year is critical for Trice to secure a spot on the roster and establish a career in the NFL.
