The Habs send Lucas Condotta to the Laval Rocket, Newhook on return
The Montreal Canadiens relocated forward Lucas Condotta to the Laval Rocket on Friday in preparation for the anticipated comeback of Alex Newhook on Saturday.

Condotta played in three games for the Canadiens this season through two separate call-ups, but he did not register any points. His lone NHL goal was scored during his only appearance last season. With the Laval Rocket in the AHL this season, he has recorded five goals and eight assists in 40 games.
During Friday’s practice, Newhook was spotted on the Canadiens’ first power play unit, hinting at his imminent return to action. Coupled with Condotta’s reassignment, it strongly suggests that Newhook is set to make a comeback. Newhook’s previous match was against the Florida Panthers on November 30, after which he was expected to be sidelined for 10-12 weeks due to a high ankle sprain.
In his debut season with the Canadiens, Newhook has tallied seven goals and six assists in 23 NHL games.
