On Wednesday, a three-star center, intends to commit to the Memphis Tigers.

Three-star recruit Connor Vanover has decided to join the Memphis Tigers under head coach Tubby Smith and is set to formally sign on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Pacific time at Findlay Prep. The early signing period for college basketball is from November 8th to November 15th.

Standing at 7 feet 4 inches, Vanover has been delivering strong performances for Findlay, including a recent game where he contributed 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks in a victory over LV Prep. His on-court prowess is also generating attention with notable highlights.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Vanover holds the 307th national ranking and is placed 28th in the center position. In the independent 247Sports Rankings, he is positioned as the 270th player in the nation and is ranked 26th in his position. Both rankings identify him as the third best player from Arkansas.

Vanover made the decision to join the Tigers despite offers from other schools such as Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oral Roberts, SMU, Tulsa, UTEP, and Vanderbilt. During the later stages of his recruitment, Tulsa and UTEP showed significant interest, while some west coast teams were also attempting to get involved.

This signing marks Memphis’ first commitment in the early period. Currently, their 2018 class is ranked 118th in the nation, with two scholarships still available. You can find more about the potential candidates they are considering to fill those positions.
