“Blessed to receive an offer from the University of North Carolina,” UNC is set for the commitment of an electrifying playmaker

A rising star in the recruitment scene has recently included UNC basketball in the list of schools offering him a spot. Acaden Lewis, a promising guard from Sidwell Friends School (Washington, D.C.), is currently ranked 72nd overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite and is expected to climb the ranks significantly in the near future. Known for his impressive speed, ability to make creative plays in traffic, and skill in hitting clutch step-back threes, Lewis, a four-star prospect standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 170 pounds, shared the news of his offer from UNC head coach Hubert Davis in a post on Wednesday.

Having caught the eye of UNC basketball personnel at the NBPA Top 100 Camp near Orlando this week, the up-and-coming high school senior distinguished himself as one of the standout players.

In his team’s triumphant victory in the championship game on Wednesday, Lewis contributed significantly with 25 points and eight assists, hitting 4 out of 7 three-pointers. Consequently, it comes as no shock that the offer from the Tar Heels promptly materialized.

Even though Lewis has accumulated nearly 24 offers, UNC is the inaugural renowned basketball powerhouse to formally enter the competition. Nonetheless, Kentucky has shown keen interest, and he made an informal trip to Lexington at the end of May.

Acaden Lewis becomes the 15th prospect in his class to capture the attention of the Tar Heels. This roster includes five fresh additions in the recent month.

Notably, all five of these latest prospects are four-star talents with apparent rising value. UNC’s initial 10 recipients of offers on the 2025 recruiting path were all five-star prospects.
