“Blessed to receive an offer from the university of Houston” Cougars set for the commitment of electrifying 5-Star Guard

On September 12, Isiah Harwell, a highly-rated Class of 2025 guard, is set to reveal his choice of college, with the Houston Cougars being among the final four schools on his list according to Joe Tipton.

The other schools still in contention are California, Gonzaga, and Texas, following the elimination of Alabama, Baylor, Idaho State, North Carolina, and Texas as reported by On3. Additionally, On3 ranks Harwell, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, as the seventh best prospect overall in his class and the third best shooting guard.

UPDATE: Isiah Harwell, a five-star prospect, has narrowed down his college choices to four schools, as confirmed to @On3Recruits.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is considered one of the top-10 recruits in the 2025 class.

He has also announced his commitment date and arranged for an official visit later this month. Here

Harwell has previously visited Gonzaga and Houston, and is scheduled for a visit with the California Golden Bears in late June, before concluding his high school basketball career with Wasatch Academy in Utah.

As for Houston, they have yet to secure any official commitments in the 2025 cycle. However, they had a strong 2023-24 season in the Big 12 Conference, finishing with a 32-5 overall record before being eliminated by Duke in the Sweet 16.

All-American point guard Jamal Shead entered the 2024 NBA Draft after an impressive senior campaign, averaging 12.9 points and 6.3 assists per game.

Additionally, former Oklahoma Sooners guard Milos Uzan transferred to the Cougars this Spring following a season where he averaged 9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
