“Blessed to have received an offer from UCLA! The Bruins are set for the commitment of an electrifying 4-star playmaker.”

The son of a Penn State legend heading to Happy Valley for an official visit as a Class of 2025 recruit

A three-star athlete in the Class of 2025, is set to visit Penn State as the last stop of his official recruitment journey, following visits to  Tennessee.

Often associated with Penn State’s football legacy, LaVar Arrington has left a lasting impact with his iconic No. 11, which has been worn by distinguished players such as Brandon Bell, Navorro Bowman, Micah Parsons, and now Abdul Carter.

This Friday, LaVar Arrington Jr. will make his official visit to Happy Valley, fueling speculation that the three-star athlete could potentially carry on his father’s legacy by wearing the same number in the team’s blue and white jersey.

Hailing from Covina, California, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Arrington has received offers from various universities, including Arizona, Michigan, Tennessee, and Washington, with Penn State and UCLA emerging as top contenders.

During this weekend, James Franklin and Tom Allen will strive to persuade Arrington to carve out his own identity within the Penn State football program, distinct from the shadow cast by his father across central Pennsylvania.

Although categorized as an athlete, Arrington is expected to transition into a linebacker at the collegiate level. If he commits to Penn State for the 2025 class, he will join incoming players DJ McClary, Dayshaun Burnett, and Alex Tatsch in the same position.

McClary and Burnett, both regarded as four-star recruits by 247Sports, add to the competition for spots in the linebacker position. Furthermore, with Tony Rojas anticipated to assume the starting off-ball linebacker role and Carter transitioning to defensive end in Allen’s new system, competition for positions is set to intensify.

In addition to Arrington, nine other recruits, including four-star safety JaDon Blair from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, will be welcomed by Franklin for official visits this weekend, marking the culmination of the summer recruiting efforts.
