Blackhawks trade 26-years-old forward to Predators for draft pick

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced the trade of winger Anthony Beauvillier to the Nashville Predators in return for a 2024 fifth-round draft selection on Thursday.

As Beauvillier, aged 26, nears the conclusion of his substantial three-year contract valued at $4.15 million per year, and with the Blackhawks focusing on the upcoming season, it was anticipated that several teams would show interest in the versatile forward who can adapt to playing on either wing.

While his statistics have declined following his departure from the New York Islanders, the 2015 first-round draft pick was previously a crucial component in their well-rounded offensive lineup. Between 2017 and 2021, he consistently scored a minimum of 15 goals for the Islanders, achieving a total of 21 goals in 71 games during the 2017-2018 season.

After spending seven seasons with the Islanders, he transitioned to the Vancouver Canucks and later to the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks currently possess a total of nine picks in the upcoming 2024 NHL draft, with seven of those picks falling within the first three rounds.
