Big News: Padres Padres Ready to Seal $34 Million Deal for All-Star Outfielder

Padres Expected to Re-sign Left Fielder on Significant Two-Year Deal.

Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly has projected that the player will receive a two-year,  $34 million contract renewal with the Padres this offseason.

17 million club option for 2027. Kelly considers this player one of the toughest free agents to predict due to his outstanding performance last season.

In 2024, this player had an exceptional year, hitting a career-high .280 with a .380 on-base percentage, which ranked second in the National League, just behind Shohei Ohtani. He also achieved career bests with 94 runs, 24 home runs, 85 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases. The Padres’ success was heavily reliant on his performance; they had a record of 27-9 when he had multiple hits in a game. Defensively, he excelled in the outfield with a .996 fielding percentage over 148 starts, recording 230 putouts, four assists, and committing only one error.

Given his impressive all-around production, the 11-year veteran is poised to secure a multi-year deal with the Padres that could increase his annual earnings to between 16and 19 million. The player in question is Jurickson Profar.
