Bennett Andersen & The Florida Gators Yet Again Receive Another Exciting News
The Florida Gators are a team that needs no introduction. With standout players like Walter Clayton Jr., Will Richard, Alijah Martin, Alex Condon, and Thomas Haugh, they rank among the elite in the nation.
Yet, it’s a walk-on who has become the center of attention during their journey to the Final Four.
Bennett Andersen, a former team manager, secured an NIL deal with Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux after his impressive performance in the team’s victory over Maryland in the Sweet 16 gained widespread attention. It’s quite rare for a walk-on to step onto the court in the Sweet 16, but what Andersen did next left his teammates ecstatic.
“So I wanted to come and personally congratulate you and thank you for being an inspiration to so many walk-ons like yourself, me, and your teammates out there,” Landry said. “Oh, I almost forgot to mention— we also provide scholarships, and you’ve just earned one.”
Ultimately, Andersen received a $ 10,000 scholarship from the organization.
Andersen and the Gators are set to compete for a spot in the NCAA Championship this weekend in San Antonio against the Auburn Tigers. If the Gators succeed and make it to the National Championship game, it would mark an eventful few weeks for him as he wraps up his college experience.
The Gators will take on SEC rival Auburn on Saturday, with tip-off scheduled for 6:09 p.m. ET in San Antonio.
