The outfielder, who was ranked as the fourth-best prospect in their team in 2023, made his debut on July 5 of the previous season. Following a 26-game stint with the Orioles, he was sent back down to Triple-A due to his struggles at the plate, posting a .115/.286/.148 slash line with zero home runs, four RBI, and 22 strikeouts in 61 at-bats.
However, things have taken a significant turn for the 24-year-old player in 2024. After an impressive week, Cowser has drastically improved his performance, now boasting a .441/.474/.971 slash line with four home runs and 13 RBI. He currently leads the Orioles in home runs and is tied for first in RBI, despite not being a regular starter in the outfield at the moment
If he maintains this level of performance for the whole season, he could be in a good position to clinch the AL Rookie of the Year title, securing the franchise’s back-to-back wins in the category
