Auburn Tigers basketball coach Bruce Pearl shares strong reaction to Israel-Iran conflict

Auburn Tigers basketball coach Bruce Pearl has never been anything but outspoken about his support of Israel. As the Israel Defense Forces, with help from the United States’ military, wages war with Iran, Pearl maintained his full-throated support of President Donald Trump.

“Oil prices are down, markets are up because Iran has been diminished. They’re not escalating but capitulating. We need to keep our head on a swivel, this conflict is not over but President Trumps wisdom and actions have made the Middle East safer. Peace through prosperity is next,” Pearl said in a tweet.

“UAE joins Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries in condemning Iran, isolating them even further. This is what happens when you don’t appease your sworn enemy. This is what President Trumps’ peace through strength looks like, something the democrats have lost sight of,” he added in another tweet.

Pearl supports Trump, but to a point.

Pearl is an admitted Zionist who fully backs the Jewish Nation. If Trump ever strayed from full support of Israel, which he has implied publicly but acted differently on in private, Pearl would differ ideologically from the president.

As Pearl begins his political career, which is all but certain to start at some point in the next half decade and may even start in 2026, he is making it clear what his most important issue is.

Support of Israel is waning amongst younger voters, so it’ll be interesting to see if voting trends in the state of Alabama stick — and Pearl can follow in the footsteps of former Auburn Tigers football coach Tommy Tuberville, who won a US Senate seat in the Yellowhammer State back in 2020.
