Following a 21-14 defeat to Cal at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze is reportedly making adjustments at the starting quarterback position.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel has reported that Hank Brown will take the helm for the Tigers, replacing Payton Thorne for this Saturday’s homecoming match against New Mexico.
Thorne struggled last week, throwing four interceptions in the loss to Cal. Over the past three weeks, he has totaled five touchdowns and 487 passing yards.
Can confirm the ON3 report that Auburn will be making a quarterback change this weekend. Redshirt freshman Hank Brown will make his first career start against New Mexico, as Payton Throne loses his starting job.

Brown, from Nashville, has limited collegiate experience, having played only against Maryland in the Music City Bowl, where he completed 7 of 9 passes for 132 yards.
He previously led his high school team to a state championship under coach Trent Dilfer.
Auburn will face off against New Mexico at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, airing on ESPN2.
