TRADE ALERT: Atlanta Falcons GM Reveals Aggressive Plan for New Quarterback Search

The Atlanta Falcons are openly seeking a new quarterback to take the lead in the upcoming season. It seems Desmond Ridder is not the permanent solution the team is looking for, indicating their intentions to bring in a new QB in the following months, or at least make an effort to do so.

Atlanta Falcons General Manager Speaks Out About Quest for Fresh Quarterback

At this juncture, it appears that the Falcons have not yet zeroed in on a specific target. While they may have a shortlist in mind, General Manager Terry Fontenot made it clear in a recent press briefing that the team is open to exploring various options.

Fontenot emphasized the collaborative efforts of the team within the organization, stating, “We have a wealth of talented individuals within our organization.

We will work closely together to approach the situation thoughtfully. No avenues will be ruled out, whether it’s through trades, free agency, or the draft. We will maintain a flexible approach and exhaust all possibilities to ensure we make the right decision.”

Unless the offseason turns out to be a catastrophe, it appears highly likely that the Falcons will indeed have a new starting quarterback for the 2024-25 season.

Is Kirk Cousins going to Atlanta?

Might Kirk Cousins be the one? He hasn’t signed a new contract with the Minnesota Vikings yet, so it’s probable that he will enter free agency.

The Vikings likely want to keep the four-time Pro Bowler, but they might struggle to match his salary expectations.

Reports suggest Cousins is looking for over $30 million per season, a substantial sum. It’s uncertain if the Falcons will be prepared to meet this figure for Cousins.
