ASU freshman quarterback signs first NIL deal

Arizona State football’s freshman quarterback Sam Leavitt has inked his first local NIL deal with Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers.

As part of this partnership, the Arizona restaurant chain will launch the Sam Leavitt QB 10 wrap, which includes options of Nashville hot chicken or grilled chicken, along with romaine lettuce, ranch, shredded cheese, buffalo sauce, and fresh tomato wrapped in a soft tortilla.

In an interview with Arizona’s Family, Leavitt shared his excitement about this collaboration and its significance for ASU football. “It’s really cool to associate my name with something. People get to go in the store and order it. Kids that idolize me, I get to make an impact on their lives,” he remarked.

Leavitt and the Sun Devils have made a strong start this season, winning their first three games for the first time since 2019. “It’s electric right now,” Leavitt stated. “To be able to do it with my guys and the coaching staff I’ve grinded with for the last eight months is pretty special.”

The team faced its first challenge against Texas State, where they overcame a 14-point deficit in the second quarter to secure a 31-28 win. “It just shows the culture at ASU. Losing teams don’t do that. Winning teams do that,” he noted.

Despite the successful start, Leavitt believes the Sun Devils are not getting the recognition they deserve nationally. “I try not to pay attention to it too much. I heard that we’re underdogs for this Texas Tech game, which I love,” he added.
