The summer is typically the busiest window for official visits in college football recruiting, but much like planning a beach vacation, that process has to begin in the winter. As top prospects begin to announce their travel schedules for the spring and summer, Penn State continues to build on its hot start to the 2026 recruiting cycle.
To start the month of February, four-star offensive tackle Johnnie Jones announced that he plans to take official visits to Penn State, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, and Miami. The Tampa, Florida product is the 160th-ranked player in the 2026 recruiting class by 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 14 offensive tackle, nine spots behind Penn State 2026 commit Kevin Brown.
Brown headlines a class that currently consists of nine players and is ranked No. 4 in the country. The Harrisburg, PA product is one of five four-stars already committed to play for the Nittany Lions, and more could be on the way.
Four-star tight end Mack Sutter recently announced that he plans to take an official visit to Penn State, naming the Nittany Lions as one of his five finalists. According to 247Sports, nine uncommitted four-star recruits, including Jones and Sutter, are scheduled to visit Happy Valley this summer:

OT: Carter Scruggs, Loudoun, VA – 4-star
OT: Johnnie Jones, Tampa, FL – 4-star
S: Kaden Gebhardt, Lewis Center, OH – 4-star

DL: Keshawn Stancil, Clayton, NC – 4-star
ATH: Jackson Ford, Malvern, PA – 4-star
OT: Gregory Patrick, Portage, MI – 4-star
Penn State’s full group of players taking an official visit will continue to expand well beyond that number and already includes both five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and five-star defensive end Zion Elee, who have both shown strong interest in the Nittany Lions.
With so much talent expected to walk out the door after the 2025 season, much of it from James Franklin’s loaded 2022 recruiting class, 2026 is an important year for Penn State on the recruiting trail, and so far, so good.
