Another Iowa football roster move was announced Thursday when redshirt freshman Gavin Hoffman posted on social media that he’s entering the NCAA transfer portal.

The Leawood, Kansas, native did not see any game action during his freshman season in 2024 and has four years of eligibility remaining.
According to Iowa football website, the Hawkeyes still have five tight ends listed on their spring 2025 roster.

The 6-foot-5, 247-pound Hoffman was a four-star prospect coming out of Blue Valley Northwest High School, according to 247Sports. Before coming to Iowa, Hoffman earned first-team all-state and all-conference honors as a senior and a was a team captain as a senior.
