Alabama has a new addition to its offensive line room ahead of spring practice Monday.
Offensive tackle Jayden Hobson, a three-star prospect in the 2023 class who spent his freshman season at Mississippi State, was part of a roster update released Sunday by the school’s NIL collective, Yea Alabama.
The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Hobson is a Tuscaloosa native who played at Paul W. Bryant High School and Hillcrest High School. After not playing at Mississippi State in 2023 and redshirting, he transferred to South Alabama last spring. But Hobson later left the team with “intentions to drop out of school and enter the work force,” AL.com reported last August.
Offensive tackle depth for offseason practices was a need for Alabama, which lost Elijah Pritchett to the transfer portal. The Tide added Ball State transfer tackle Arkel Anugwom in January to a group that is led by Kadyn Proctor and Wilkin Formby.
