Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson breaks WNBA single-season scoring record

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has set a new WNBA single-season scoring record. The two-time WNBA MVP surpassed the previous record of 939 points held by Jewell Loyd since 2023.

Wilson achieved this milestone by scoring her 941st point just before halftime in the game against the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night. She made a jumper from the free throw line with 26.4 seconds remaining in the second quarter, breaking Loyd’s record. Averaging 27.3 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, Wilson concluded the first half with 12 points and eight rebounds.

She had missed the team’s previous game in New York while recovering from a foot injury sustained against Connecticut. The Aces have four remaining games, including another matchup against the Fever on Friday night.
