While the White Sox continue their search for Major League-level pitching and hitting coaches, they’ve started to fill other roles within the organization.

According to a post on X, JC Scanner, the pitching coach at the College of Central Florida, has accepted a coaching position with the team. The exact details of his role remain unclear and have not yet been officially announced by the White Sox.
Very humbled to accept a coaching position with the @whitesox. I want to thank @GoCFBaseball for giving me the opportunity to be apart of such an elite program and grow as a coach. There's NO better JUCO in country. #PatLand is a very special place and I will be forever grateful https://t.co/AjoyFvVsZA

Scanner, a Mississippi native, captured two state championships with Oak Grove High School before continuing his baseball career at Pearl River Community College, where he earned All-State honors twice. He later became a weekend starter at Northwestern State and completed his history degree at William Carey University in 2019, where he was also named First-Team All-Conference.
After his playing career, Scanner joined the Twins organization in 2021, working in player development. The following year, he served as a player development associate with the Phillies before being appointed Davidson’s director of player development in 2023. He also spent time coaching in the Valley Baseball Collegiate Summer League, where he earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
Most recently, Scanner served as pitching coach for the College of Central Florida during the 2024–25 seasons—one of the premier JUCO programs in the country. Head coach Marty Smith noted that three of the team’s last five pitching coaches have advanced to professional baseball roles. Under Scanner’s guidance, two of the program’s pitchers were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft.
The White Sox are expected to continue making similar coaching hires, particularly within their minor league system, to replace several recent departures. Notable names such as Sergio Santos, Nicky Delmonico, and Blake Hickman will not return in 2026, potentially prompting further staff reorganization.
