On Thursday, the Bearcats’ new secondary coaches, Adam Braithwaite and Eddie Hicks, spoke with the media and praised the team’s work ethic during the winter training period.

Braithwaite, the safeties coach, and Hicks, the cornerbacks coach, expressed their appreciation for the players’ “high capacity for work.”

“One thing that has truly impressed me about the entire group—not just our position—is that the guys have a high work ethic and a passion for football,” Braithwaite noted. “When you have those qualities, it gives you a great chance to improve and excel.

“That’s just my overall observation, and I’m really looking forward to spring ball where we’ll actually get to play some football. We’ve evaluated the players during workouts, but I’m eager to see how they perform in action.”

Hicks also acknowledged the strength staff led by Niko Palazeti for maintaining high standards, along with coach Scott Satterfield.

The Bearcats will begin spring practice in a few weeks.

“I agree,” Hicks, a former player now on the UC coaching staff, said. “The strength staff does an incredible job holding the guys to the standards set by Coach Satterfield and Coach [Tyson] Veidt. The players are working hard, and that’s something that has stood out to me since my return.”
