What a shocking incident involving the Abilene Christian football team! After their close game against Texas Tech, where they lost 52-51 in overtime, four individuals from the team were taken to the hospital following a bus accident. A 19-year-old driver, who unfortunately was intoxicated, disregarded traffic directions and struck the bus, causing it to collide with another vehicle.
The accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. near Texas Tech’s stadium. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported for one player, two coaches, and the bus driver, and they were taken to the University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Texas Tech’s athletics department expressed their support, stating, “The thoughts and prayers of Red Raider Nation are with our friends at ACU and those who may have been injured in tonight’s accident.” It’s heartwarming to see such solidarity in times of distress!
