BREAKING: UNC Basketball Beats NC State in In-State Recruiting Battle

The UNC basketball staff is moving on to the next stage of the Isaiah Denis recruitment but is not included in the rising star’s upcoming visit schedule.

Just under two weeks after offering a scholarship to Isaiah Denis, a combo guard from Davidson Day School in North Carolina, UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis has made it into the finalist list for the talented rising senior.

On Thursday, Denis revealed his top ten schools, which includes UNC, Miami, Wake Forest, Pitt, Mississippi State, Kansas, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, and Cincinnati.

Notably missing from this list is NC State, a rival of UNC, despite Denis having visited the Wolfpack in March and receiving an offer from head coach Kevin Keatts about a month before UNC got involved.

Ranked No. 72 in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, Denis has received over two dozen offers throughout his recruitment. He is one of only three players on UNC’s 2025 offer list who are outside the top 50. However, given his impressive 40-spot rise since early June, it’s clear that his stock is on the rise.

He is still the latest player to receive an offer from UNC basketball for the 2025 class.

While UNC being included in Isaiah Denis’ top 10 indicates they have a shot, it’s important to mention that they haven’t secured an official visit. Denis will be visiting Pitt on August 30, Ohio State on September 7, Miami on September 13, Michigan on September 21, and Tennessee on October 11
