Just in: Another Prospect The Michigan Coaching Staff Tracked Heavily, Transfer On The Horizon

Michigan target intro: 2027 CB Larry Moon

2027 Aliquippa (Pa.) CB Larry Moon reflects upon his performance at last week’s Sound Mind Sound Body National College Showcase, discusses his interest in Michigan, and sheds light on recent conversations with former teammate Colle Sullivan and Wolverine great Ty Law..

At the recent National College Showcase at Wayne State, the Michigan coaching staff closely monitored up-and-coming 2027 cornerback Larry Moon III from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Standing at 5-11 and weighing 180 pounds, Moon made a significant impact during one-on-one matchups, leading to immediate offers from Minnesota, Kansas, and Ohio. This followed a successful month of May where he garnered scholarships from notable schools such as Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Michigan.

Moon, known for his physicality, speed, adept hand usage, strong technique, and sharp football instincts, expressed his strengths to The Michigan Insider, emphasizing his exceptional game intelligence.

With a growing list of over two dozen offers and more potentially on the way, the standout player from Pennsylvania remains focused on his high school journey, indicating that he is in no rush to discuss his preferences with three more years of high school ahead of him.

“They are all standing out,” Moon mentioned. “Each presents a chance for my family.”

Currently, Moon’s priority is visiting as many of these interested teams as he can. He was excited about visiting Michigan for the first time following the camp.

“I had conversations with the head coach and the entire coaching team today,” Moon shared. “I have a positive impression of the Wolverines… Go Blue! I’ll be visiting on June 1st.”

“What was he eagerly anticipating seeing?” Moon responded, “The Jordan brand products. All the Jordans there. And I’m excited to tour the facility, especially the big stadium.”

During this trip, Moon had the chance to reunite with his former teammate from Pittsburgh Central Catholic, Cole Sullivan. After an impressive freshman season, Moon returned to his hometown school, Aliquippa, due to family reasons. In contrast, Sullivan joined Michigan as an early enrollee.

Despite the physical distance, the pair has remained in contact.

“I asked him how he was finding it at Michigan,” Moon recollected a conversation with Sullivan. “He responded, ‘I’m loving it here.’ I even spotted him on the sidelines during the national championship, which was really cool.”

“I plan to catch up with him when I visit.”

Moon has not only been communicating with one Wolverine recently. Former Aliquippa and Michigan standout, as well as NFL hall-of-famer Ty Law, shared some supportive words about the University of Michigan.

“I had a conversation with him just last week,” Moon mentioned about Law. “He visited the school once. Law exclaimed, ‘Go Blue!’ and mentioned that it’s an excellent place to be.”
