GOOD NEWS: Draymond Green Apologizes for going scorched earth on ESPN broadcaster Stephen A. Smith.

Draymond Green, the star of the Golden State Warriors, took aim at ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith in a recent podcast interview. Green claims he lost faith in Smith because the esteemed commentator failed to defend Draymond during the season when the veteran was receiving harsh criticism.

Draymond Green Issues Unexpected Apology

This tale, predictably, took a life of its own, and Stephen A. swiftly responded with a diatribe of his own.

In a guest appearance on Shaq’s The Big Podcast, Green voiced his disapproval of Smith’s behavior. The previous Defensive Player of the Year stated that Stephen A. “really pissed me off”:

Smith responded to Green’s charges promptly, dismissing the notion that he was unfairly biased either in Draymond’s favor or against him:

Green had not replied to Smith’s retort. That was before the Warriors star apologized on Tuesday night for what he now acknowledges was an error on his part:

“Shaq, I was listening to your podcast, The Big Podcast, and you mentioned Stephen A.,” Green remarked while watching the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks play Game 4 on TNT. “And I want to apologize to him for saying something that didn’t come out the way I intended. I stated that in the open. That was a mistake on my part. I’m sorry.

Smith will probably be pleased to accept Green’s modest apologies. This should effectively terminate the brief mini-feud that has developed.
