Ben Tozer’s time with Wrexham has come to an end, but the defender appreciates the opportunity he had to experience the benefits of being part of a team owned by Hollywood figures Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Center-back Tozer joined Wrexham from Cheltenham Town in August 2021 for an undisclosed fee. Over three seasons, he played 118 league matches for the Reds before being released by manager Phil Parkinson. Wrexham achieved back-to-back promotions for the first time in the club’s history during his final two seasons.
After each promotion, the team enjoyed an all-expenses-paid celebration in Las Vegas, generously funded by owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Despite not being part of potential future successes, the 34-year-old Tozer appreciates the remarkable experiences he had in north Wales.
Tozer, who served as the club captain, expressed gratitude for the exceptional treatment the players received, emphasizing the unforgettable trips to Las Vegas and the overall experiences. He values the memories created and sees them as something to be thankful for rather than something to miss.
Following his departure, Tozer has remained in contact with Hollywood stars Reynolds and McElhenney, known for their roles in Deadpool and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, respectively.
