Jalen Hurts’ ability again called into question, this time by former Eagles LB

Emmanuel Acho believes Jalen Hurts is “good” but “not good enough.

Emmanuel Acho: What to know about the Bachelor's 'After the Final Rose' host - The Washington Post

He has been a starting member of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Oklahoma Sooners, two storied college football teams. Since the 14th week of the 2020 season, he has been the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback. He has broken both franchise and NFL records. Although his skill as a runner has undoubtedly contributed to several of those, we’ve also seen him utilize his arm well.

We can go weeks without talking about quarterback QB1 because the Eagles’ roster, draft class, and free agency haul were all so strong. It’s a good problem to have. Oh my… How frequently has it occurred?

But Jalen’s a conversation starter that’s too compelling to ignore for very long. But that was just resolved by Fomer Bird and Speak host Emmanuel Acho. And what about it? In the court of public opinion, Philly’s offensive signal-caller is once more on trial.

The chore of finding information on our Birds can be overwhelming at times due to the abundance of available sources. Even if you keep an eye on the news throughout the day, you frequently miss the majority of what is mentioned. However, New Heights is on our schedule. LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson’s 25/10 Show is the same. Howdy! Chip Kelly was lit up lately, wasn’t that right?

This is an additional one. To watch Speak, we frequently tune into FS1. Shady and Emmanuel Acho, two former Eagles, are among the hosts. That most likely has a major impact on it. Something Acho stated not too long ago caught our attention.

A conversation included Jalen Hurts’ name. This is where the story started to get intriguing. In Emmanuel’s opinion, Philly’s QB1 is “good” but “not elite”. Hurts isn’t good enough, in Acho’s opinion, to lead the Birds to and win the Super Bowl.
Who is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts? | DAZN News CA
We disagree slightly, even if we can see where he’s coming from. Does Pain have to get better? Yes, he does, but we saw him in a Super Bowl outplaying Patrick Mahomes. Somewhere in Jalen, that guy has to be still there.

Recall the 12th week of the NFL in 2023. After defeating the Buffalo Bills in overtime, Philadelphia was on the upswing. At the moment, Jalen had a strong mathematical advantage to win the MVP award in the NFL. No mistake or accident caused that to occur, ladies and gentlemen.

Granted, we have a prejudice because we are football addicts. We think that playing quarterback in sports is the hardest position to play. Let’s consider his since it explains why six or more are selected so highly each season.

Let’s assume for the purposes of this discussion that quarterbacking isn’t the hardest position in all of football to play. That would definitely rank in the top two or three if that is the case. At the time this story was published, Jalen had started 51 games in the regular season and five more in the postseason.

We have observed bursts. Though come on, we have also observed areas of potential. In addition, he is 25 years old and won’t be 26 until August. The evidence points to Jalen’s improvement.

The collegiate career was discussed previously. We may bring up his role as rookie backup to Carson Wentz. We can mention Tua Tagovailoa replacing him at the NCAA level as Alabama’s starting quarterback. Adversity has been well-managed by Hurts. As a professional, he must now provide another helping.

Our view? Jalen is going to be all right. We thought his injury from the previous season had a greater impact on him than he disclosed. His approach to the game and work ethic are outstanding. His supporting cast is equally impressive.

Stir in Kellen Moore, the recently hired offensive coordinator. You can see how he shaped Dak Prescott’s development. There was some of the same doubt that Dak felt, and Philly’s offense might be even more dynamic than Moore’s in Dallas.

Let the comeback begin. Hurts has our faith. Examine the league environment. Most of the starters are open to debate, but Philly has a quarterback who can both win and get them to the dance.
