Wrexham has named a former Inter Milan executive as their latest CEO, while Hollywood personalities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney gear up the team for the challenges of League One after consecutive promotions.
Wrexham AFC has appointed Michael Williamson, a former executive at Serie A champions Inter Milan, as their new Chief Executive Officer. The club, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is gearing up for their first season in League One after achieving consecutive promotions from the National League.
Williamson, who previously held positions such as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Co-CEO of the San Siro Stadium at Inter Milan, brings a wealth of experience to Wrexham. He has also worked in MLS with DC United and David Beckham’s Inter Miami. In a statement released by the club, Williamson expressed his delight at joining Wrexham AFC after their impressive back-to-back promotions to League One. He looks forward to collaborating with the dedicated management, staff, and players who have excelled since Reynolds and McElhenney’s arrival in 2020.
