Huddersfield Town have appointed Michael Duff as their new manager as they aim to bounce back from their relegation to League One. The club, which was demoted from the Championship along with Rotherham United and Birmingham City, is determined to secure an immediate return to the second tier. Huddersfield parted ways with their previous manager, Andre Breitenreiter, and have now quickly found his replacement, Duff, as they prepare for the upcoming season in League One.
Devante Cole
The player in question is out of contract at the end of June and has not yet agreed to an extension, putting him on course to become a free agent. He is a proven goal scorer in League One, having netted 34 times over the previous two seasons at that level. As a graduate of Manchester City’s academy, he could be a worthwhile free transfer target for Huddersfield Town. Duff was able to get the best out of him during their one year working together at Barnsley.
Herbie Kane
The midfielder’s future at Barnsley is in question as his contract is set to expire in a few weeks. Reports suggest that he has been associated with Championship newcomers Derby County, who earned promotion under former Rotherham United manager Paul Warne, according to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon platform. At 25 years old, Kane moved to his current team in 2020 from Liverpool after loan stints at Doncaster Rovers and Hull City. Since then, he has featured in 123 matches across all competitions, finding the net 14 times, with 10 of those goals coming in the most recent season.
