JUST IN: A sensational elite star gets Draft Call From Buccaneers

On Friday, the Buccaneers helped fulfill yet another college player’s dream

Chris Braswell from Alabama was a force in the backfield last season, tallying eight sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles. His efforts have now earned him a spot on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ roster.

Tampa Bay drafted Braswell as the No. 57 overall pick, adding him to a formidable group of edge rushers that includes Yaya Diaby. As Braswell awaited his draft selection, his family eagerly anticipated the moment, and their joy was palpable when Tampa Bay made the call to bring him on board

On Day 2, the Buccaneers selected three promising players: edge rusher Chris Braswell, safety Tykee Smith, and wide receiver Jalen McMillan, addressing specific team needs. With Braswell stepping into the edge rushing rotation post-Shaquil Barrett’s departure, Smith competing for the nickel corner position, and McMillan potentially serving as a valuable WR3 behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Looking ahead to Day 3, Tampa Bay now has upcoming picks in Round 4, Round 6, and Round 7. Barring any trades, the Bucs aim to utilize these three selections to bolster their roster in preparation for the 2024 season
