BREAKNIG NEWS: Walters confirms Broncos’ duo could face longer sideline stint

Brisbane Broncos Players at Risk of Missing Second Game

  • Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters has disclosed that Selwyn Cobbo and Ezra Mam may miss a second game.
  • The unexpected absence of both players from the Brisbane team set to compete against the Wests Tigers this weekend came as a surprise.
  • Walters, in the Broncos’ team announcement on Tuesday, mentioned that the initial plan was for the players to miss only one week of action. He suggested that their injuries were showing signs of improvement during the break, implying that if this week’s match was critical, they might have been included in the lineup Walters stated in a club release on Tuesday afternoon, “Ezra and Selwyn underwent scans revealing injuries that would benefit from them sitting out this week’s game. We anticipate their return for the following week.

Brisbane Broncos Confirm Four Key Players’ Return

  • Brisbane Broncos have confirmed the comeback of four crucial players for their upcoming match against the Tigers on Saturday evening. Adam Reynolds, Deine Mariner, Brendan Piakura, and Payne Haas have all been included in the lineup.

Doubts Emerge Over Cobbo and Mam’s Return Against Roosters

The anticipated return of Selwyn Cobbo and Ezra Mam to play the Roosters next weekend has now been thrown into uncertainty.

Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters admitted that both players are still experiencing soreness, making them doubtful for the upcoming match.

As Walters stated on Friday morning after the team’s captain’s run ahead of the clash with the Wests Tigers, “They are still pretty sore (on Friday) so I would say they will be doubtful for next week.”

However, Walters remained positive, stating, “But that’s OK, we have great depth here and it opens up some opportunities for other players which is exciting.

Replacements for Cobbo and Mam in Broncos Lineup

  • Selwyn Cobbo and Ezra Mam have been replaced in the Brisbane Broncos lineup for this week’s match by Jock Madden and Corey Oates.
  • Madden has been filling in at halfback in place of the injured Adam Reynolds in recent weeks, and he will now shift from the number 7 jersey to the number 6 this weekend.
  • Oates, who has played in various positions, will line up on the wing for this game.
  • The Broncos currently hold a 4-3 record and, as last year’s grand finalists, will be aiming to cement their spot in the top 8 with a win this weekend.
